Perisher Work Parties

Although work will be done on the Nordic Shelter this summer, the focus will soon be on the trails. The Park has several areas supplied with new snow fence material, dropped off during the winter. NPWS staff will install the fencing in the coming months. They are also in the process of obtaining a rock splitter. Those vicious rocks with the orange spray paint on them are targeted for removal but probably not until the March work party.

Focus for the Feb work party will be pole installation, coloured arrow attachment, general trimming of shrubberies and hazardous regrowth, and rubbish collection around all the trails.

• May 1/2

Canberra Alpine Club has, incredibly generously, offered accommodation for work parties. CAC has done this for many years. It is the kind of contribution that really makes the work parties successful and fun. Please call Peter Cunningham on 0411 129363 if you require accommodation at the lodge.
