    • Offer a lift
  • The coordinator will contact you by email
While the volunteer will do her best to help bring members together for transport sharing, the ultimate responsibility for getting to the snow rests with the individual member. It is usual to share transport, but on rare occasions it may be necessary to catch the bus.

CCCSC also runs a Google Group where members can contact each other about car pooling. To sign in click on the Google image above or follow the joining instructions

Private Lesson

On my last ski tour we skied down Mt Carruthers on steep icy snow. All the others in my group were competent downhill skiers and had no trouble doing parallel turns on their crosscountry skis. I struggled trying to do stem turns and telemarks. So I decided I needed to learn parallels.

Melida Brouwer , Mandy Nearhos and I contacted Acacia Rose of K7 adventures to ask if she could arrange a lesson for us. Acacia put us in contact with Mike Edmondson who gave us a half day lesson on the Perisher Trails on 5 July.

It was a perfect day with deep fresh snow and the trials were well groomed. We soon got the hang of parallels as they are much easier to master than Telemarks! Unfortunately the snow was so good we couldn’t find any icy slopes so we’ll need to practice this another day.
