Canberra Cross Country Ski Club

Come Ski With Us

Are you tired of crowded ski slopes? Do you want to ski for months before the resorts open and after they close? Are you a bushwalker who would like to explore the mountains in winter? Are you a runner or skater who would like to try racing on snow?

If you want to make first tracks down that snow covered mountain that you can see from the lookout but could never reach, or glide or skate through the trees, or snowcamp for a weekend or a week in a winter wonderland, you should leave the ski lifts behind and embark on a Cross-Country skiing adventure.

Cross-Country skiing can be a leisurely tour on a track or in the backcountry, and it can an adrenaline-pumping, heart-pounding sport when citizen racing or descending a mountain by telemark or alpine techniques.

Canberra Cross Country Ski Club (CCCSC) can help.

More information on Cross-Country skiing can be found on this website and its links, and on WikiSki.com

Notice of Special General Meeting

19:45, Wednesday, 8 July 2015, in the Turner Scout Hall

To all Canberra Cross-Country Ski Club Members,

The Committee calls a General Meeting, giving 21 days notice, for 19:45 Wednesday 8 July at Turner Scout Hall to precede the Social Meeting.

This General Meeting will consider the following Special Resolution of the Club, changes underlined, moved by Bruce Porter, seconded by Deb Purss.

Change CCCSC Constitution clause 32 Funds Management (2) to:
All monies drawn from the Club's accounts shall be drawn by the cheque or Electronic Funds Transfer signed by at least two of the bank signatories authorised by the Committee. No cheque or Electronic Funds Transfer shall be signed or money withdrawn unless such transaction has been approved by the Committee or, in the case of urgency, by the President and the Secretary at least two members of the Executive of the Club.

Background

Electronic Funds Transfer has been organised with NAB by our Treasurer, Paul Room, who has requested coverage in the Constitution. Transaction approval by two members of our Executive (President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary) replaces President and Secretary only, and eases the current problem where the President is overseas. Our Secretary, Bruce Porter, has discussed the proposed changes by telephone with the office of the ACT Register General for Incorporated Associations.

Bruce Porter,
Secretary, Canberra Cross Country Ski Club
